Hello, Ingrid Thompson here.
I’m a Business Mentor and I specialise in working with health professionals to create, start and grow a business. I find my clients are people extremely dedicated to their chosen health profession and just need some help with the business aspects of business.
You may have heard the saying “There has never been a better time to be in business” or “There has never been a better time to start a business”? I believe both to be true.
Today you can take your unique talents & abilities & create a thriving business. Where opportunity exists, there is limitless potential.
Healthy Numbers provides business start-ups with face to face and online training, and coaching to help individuals harness that potential.
Here’s how I see it. Starting a business is a lot like getting a Boeing 747 jumbo or an Airbus A380 off the ground; it takes an enormous effort to overcome the gravitational force of the earth.
Starting a business takes enormous gravitational pull to over come what I call “business startup gravitational force”. This is the force that holds a business back from getting started. Some times this is a good thing.
When we jump into things feet first and take a “by the seat of my pants” approach it can result in mistakes, errors, lost time, unproductive effort and can cost a lot of money. Of course there are always going to be mistakes. When getting started in business there are ways to prevent the obvious mistakes. I’ve spent most of the past 15 years working with small businesses and I have developed a methodology that works!
Specialising in the health and wellness sector, my methods and style have proven to be successful in a broad range of professions including Pilates studios, yoga studios, personal trainers, dance schools, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and acupuncture clinics. I’ve also developed a high level of expertise in working with Dental Practices.
Recently I’ve developed an online course specifically for Pilates Studios “So You Want to Start a Pilates Business” which has been PAA approved in Australia and has received PMA approval in US for PD credits; super exciting!
Working across the spectrum of large long established corporations through to new individual business start-ups, I have observed that whether large or small, the same business basics apply:
While these business basics sound remarkably simple they remain elusive to most businesses, especially many of the small independent businesses who come to me for assistance. This is what I do.
What I have also discovered is that people who have a great idea for a business generally face 3 similar issues:
Over time I have come to realise people mostly want the same thing. People want to use their unique skills and gifts to create a life they love.
Our online training program “So You Want to Start a Business” and “So You Want to Start a Pilates Business”, takes participants through the steps to answer their Start-up issues and questions.
And when I am not working with you, I enjoy both Pilates and yoga as well as surfing at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach. I especially love an afternoon on the couch with a good read, a cup of tea and any or all of our 3 cats.
So give me a call and let’s talk about the life you want to live. I’m living mine, and I’d like to help you to live yours too!
Let’s make your business dream a reality! I can help you get there.
My Clients Say:
My Partner Charities:
Why Fred Hollows Foundation? When I met Fred I immediately became a raving fan of his wonderful work. Fred died more than 20 years ago and his work carries on. There is a team of people who continue to be committed to his work and his Vision of what’s possible. Sometimes I wonder what might his Foundation be if he had lived ….
Why Animals Australia? This organisation is “the voice for animals” and has an unprecedented track record in investigating and exposing animal cruelty and conducting world-first public awareness campaigns. I met Lyn White and am in awe of what she and her team have achieved.
Animals Australia’s vision is a world where all animals are treated with compassion and respect and are free from cruelty. We believe that we can create a kinder world for all by fostering respect for animals and that our treatment of animals reflects who we are as individuals and as a society.
Why Kiva? Some years ago a client gave me a $50 Kiva loan as a “Happy Christmas” gesture. Years later my original $50 has been repaid and relent a number of times.
Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. We celebrate and support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.
By lending as little as $25 on Kiva, anyone can help a borrower start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy or realize their potential. For some, it’s a matter of survival, for others it’s the fuel for a life-long ambition.
100% of every dollar lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. Kiva covers their own costs primarily through optional donations, as well as through support from grants and sponsors.
